In the early days of online casinos, there seemed to be a huge clamour to use the name "Vegas" somehow within the casino name. Probably a sensible
idea since to many players Las Vegas was the definition of casinos. Having been founded in 2000, Vegas Palms is clearly one of those early online
casinos which cashed-in on the "Vegas" name. Sticking with trends from the turn of the century - Vegas Palms is one of those rare online casinos to
still offer a download option for players, though we'll cover that in more detail shortly.
Vegas Palms wishes to whisk players away to a tropical island, surrounded by warm, turquoise waters, and lush palm trees. Well, that's the image that we're greeted with when we first load-up this online casino on the desktop. It's a nice image, though there appears to be a slight display issue which can become quite disorienting when scrolling-down the page. Thankfully, this is only confined to the home page, but it is still annoying none-the-less. Navigation is via a hamburger menu in the top-right, and there is an ever-present list of games categories and a search box at the bottom of the screen, which was very useful since we did not have to keep scrolling through the page to find it.
Switching the action to a smartphone or tablet is seamless, with Vegas Palms retaining all its functionality in a neatly packaged responsive design. Even the display bug from the desktop homepage disappears on a mobile device. The mobile menu is rather bland to look at, but very easy to use - overall a good effort has been put-in for mobile users.
That download option we mentioned at the beginning? Rare as it is to find one these days, downloadable casinos used to offer a more immersive experience, with more animations and sound effects which would often put more of a strain on the internet connections of the early 21st century. We eagerly downloaded and installed the Vegas Palms software... only to find it didn't work on our machines. Not that we were running anything out of the ordinary - just plain Windows 10 laptops. Highly disappointing, but no entirely unexpected given that the vast majority of players now have internet connections which are more than fast enough for the full online gaming experience.
We hope you enjoy Microgaming casinos, because Vegas Palms is a Microgaming casino. As one of the top gaming providers for online casinos, Microgaming do make some of the top slots games which means that, while not having the largest game selection on the web, Vegas Palms still has many quality slots games available to players. We've already mentioned the categories menu and search box, which sit at the bottom of the page and provide players with a powerful tool for narrowing-down a search for specific titles. One benefit of being a single games provider casino is that all the games work flawlessly in Vegas Palms - it's a very finely-tuned experience.
The live dealer selection will be the biggest disappointment to players, as there is a measly selection of 8 games available. Vegas Palms is definitely an online casino for the video slots fans.
For what is possibly the longest list of payment methods Ugambling has ever seen in an online casino, we recommend that players check the "Deposit Options" page in Vegas Palms. We really did struggle to think of a payment method that is not listed for this casino... BitCoin, perhaps?
Withdrawal options are more limited than deposit options, though still varied when compared to some other online casinos. The terms & conditions advise that there is a 24-hour pending period for withdrawals - quite competitive - so a withdrawal via something like Skrill or Neteller would likely be in the account within 48-hours of the request being made. Vegas Palms also reserve the right to request account verification documents prior to processing withdrawals, though we were not asked for this at any point during our tests. The minimum withdrawal value of £/€50 is quiet high for an online casino, though on the flip side there is no mention of any other limits on withdrawals, which is a plus.
It appears the casino team at Vegas Palms take the same laid-back attitude as the island setting they use for their branding when it comes to customer service. Our initial email received absolutely no response at-all, and our follow-up email took over a day to be responded to. There is also a live chat option. When clicked, we had a wait of nearly 5 minutes before getting through to an agent, though they were very friendly and helpful.
Say the word "Promotions" in the Ugambling Towers (office) and one thing generally comes to mind - Wagering Requirements. Want a bonus of £/€100? Just be prepared to have to wager £/€5,000 before you can withdraw any winnings, as Vegas Palms hit players with a 50 times wagering requirement on their promotions. While casual players may enjoy having a little extra money to game with - and, thus, more playing time - the more serious gamers will likely find much better value in simply playing with their own funds and forgoing the bonuses on offer at this online casino.
